An Indian Bride
Over last weekend a German film crew was filming on Holywell Bay beach. They were filming an adapation of the novel ‘An Indian Bride’ by Cornish author Rosamunde Pilcher.
We took some time out from our work at The Meadow Holiday Park to check out what was happening. Many of our guests strolled from our accomodation onto Holywell Bay beach to watch the filming, which went on all day.
There was a spectacular display of colours with flags flying, indian dancers dancing and a ‘Golden Mandap’! As you can see, it was a bright sunny day for the filming with few crowds.
The finished production will be screened in Germany…where the national tv station has a series dedicated to adaptions of Rosamunde Pilcher novels. This brings the film crew to Cornwall quite often. They have filmed at Holywell Bay several time already. We think Holywell Bay is particularly popular with the crew because of its large beautiful beach, vast sand dunes, quiet location, and the ever iconic Gull Rocks! It’s a shame the series won’t be aired on UK TV!
If you book your holiday accomodation at The Meadow Holdiday Park, you may be lucky to catch a film crew too! We have bungalows available for holidays all year round, as well as caravans, chalets and touring/camping pitches during the main holiday season (Easter to October).
Hope to see you at The Meadow again soon!
